Netball at Brandeston Hall

The sun shone down on our netballers this afternoon at this year’s HSSSP Netball competition at Brandeston Hall. The children, split into two teams – develop and a compete – had a fantastic time.

The compete team, consisting of Arthur S, Harriet, Ella, Amy, Sophia, James, Isaac, Lenny and Sophia, are expert passers. They were able to move the ball quickly up the court, moving into space to make it easy for their teammates to find them, which suited the very fast paced games. Their defensive work was also impressive as they marked and intercepted brilliantly to foil their opponents attacking moves. They enjoyed a string of four low-scoring draws, followed by a win and three defeats. All played magnificently.

The develop team, made up of Eva, Rory, Martha, Emily and Emily, Daniel, Arthur E, Oliver and Luke enjoyed a similar run, winning two, drawing two and losing two. Mrs Waring was impressed with their determination and their passion. She made a special mention of Daniel, whose encouragement from the sidelines, when he wasn’t playing himself, was motivational. All the children played with great positivity and had a lovely afternoon.
