Remembrance Service

Sunday 9th November, Fressingfield

Harriet and Amy represented the school at this year’s Memorial Service at St Peter and St Paul’s Church and afterwards at the War Memorial with great solemnity and dignity.

Harriet was responsible for lighting a Candle of Remembrance during the service whilst Amy laid a wreath at the War Memorial prior to the two minutes silence. Both girls had worked together to choose the wording on the wreath and to write it.

On 11th November, all the children in school gathered to mark the moment when, in 1918, the guns fell silent on the Western Front. The children led this service of Remembrance, reading the Exhortation and the Kohima Epitaph then holding the silence perfectly and with the utmost respect. The children also sang and Amazon class played their clarinets for a song taught to them by Mr Kershaw. Well done Fressingfield.
