NATIONAL POETRY DAY

We celebrated National Poetry day at Fressingfield Primary School today. The children in Amazon and Zambezi classes took part in an online workshop with Michael Rosen and the Hot Poets on the theme of Wonder, contributing ideas to a shared poem written live. Meanwhile, children in Rhine responded to Wordsworth’s As I wondered lonely as a cloud.

I’m sharing a poem written by our poet-in-residence, Julie Hare, called Fistfuls of Stones, some poems written by children in Amazon Class about the things they bring into school, and a - slightly strange - class-written poem based on a shopping list. I hope you like them all.

Happy National Poetry Day everyone.
