INCREDIBLE LAND YACHTS

On Friday 15th May the children in Amazon Class spent the day designing, measuring, sawing, drilling, cutting and glueing as they each built a land yacht to their own design. Land yachts are designed to catch the wind and to be raced - which is what the children did at the end of the day. The children had some major design choices to make at the start of the day - square sails or triangular sails, t-frame, a-frame or an alternative chassis, wheels fixed to the axle or a fixed axle with rotating wheels? 

We had a great day and one which was richly deserved, coming as it did, on the last day of 'The Week That Shall Not Be Named'!
