WONDERFUL WILDER SCHOOLS

Zambezi Class had an incredibly busy and rewarding Friday as part of our Wilder Schools day. Our mission was to create a brand-new hedge around the Forest School area after the previous one was accidentally removed, and what a team effort it was!
With 120 saplings to plant and a class full of enthusiastic helpers, we began by laying all the saplings into position. The children then worked brilliantly in groups to plant each one. Digging holes in long grass wasn’t easy, but thanks to determination, teamwork, and lots of muddy hands, the whole hedge was planted before lunch!
In the afternoon, Lauren joined us to check over our hard work. After spotting (and planting!) a few saplings we’d missed, we tied a small piece of wool to each one, so they’ll be easy to see as they grow.
To finish off our day, we headed back to our raised flowerbeds for some weeding and planted lavender to help support pollinators later in the year.
What a successful, hands-on, outdoor learning day for everyone involved!
