🎢 A Fantastic Musical Start to the Year πŸŽΆβ€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹

We were absolutely delighted to welcome musicians from the Suffolk Music Service into school today for a truly inspiring assembly — and what a brilliant way to begin the new year.

The performance featured a wonderful mix of instruments, including percussion, guitar, brass and woodwind, and instantly captured the children’s attention. Pupils loved recognising familiar tunes such as Frozen and Star Wars, and many couldn’t resist joining in!

As well as being hugely enjoyable, the session was incredibly informative. The children learned about how each instrument is played, how sounds are made and how they can be changed — sparking lots of thoughtful questions afterwards (including some impressive musical knowledge about instrument families!). The musicians struck a perfect balance between learning and entertainment, with a lovely thread of humour running throughout the performance.

It was a joyful, memorable experience for both children and staff, and a reminder of the power of live music in school. We are very grateful to the Suffolk Music Service team for such a high-quality performance and would love to welcome them back again in the future.

We’re also keeping our fingers crossed to be part of the WCET Festival again this year — another fantastic opportunity for our pupils.

Thank you, Suffolk Music Service, for the brilliant work you do to support music education for children across the county 🎡
