Tim Vine's Super Silly Christmas Joke Competition

Tim Vine’s Super Christmas Joke Competition

Fressingfield Church of England Primary School, in Suffolk, is delighted to announce a festive treat to round off a fantastic autumn term: Tim Vine’s Super Christmas Joke Competition. The event will take place on Tuesday 16th December 2025 during a special whole-school assembly packed with festive fun and laughter.

The competition has been launched by award-winning comedian Tim Vine, famous for his rapid-fire puns and one-liners. Vine has recorded a video message for pupils, which can be viewed on the school’s Facebook page, encouraging children to send in their funniest Christmas-themed jokes. A selection of the best entries will even be sent to Tim himself—so he can enjoy some seasonal chuckles too.

“We’re looking for the best Christmas-related, age-appropriate puns and jokes,” said Jeremy Leicester, Head of School, who will be hosting the assembly. “This is all about celebrating creativity, confidence and humour. We can’t wait to hear what our pupils come up with.”

Families are invited to join in the fun as well. Parents and carers are welcome to send in their own favourite festive jokes too; while adults’ entries won’t be judged, some will be shared on the school’s Facebook page for everyone to enjoy throughout the season. Small prizes will be awarded during the assembly for the most inventive and entertaining pupil submissions.

Executive Headteacher, Mark Taylor added, “This competition is a great opportunity to end the term with joy, laughter and community spirit. We’re grateful to Tim Vine for lending his humour and enthusiasm to our school.”

Fressingfield C of E Primary School is proud to promote confidence, creativity and a love of learning—especially when it comes with a hearty Christmas laugh.
